Title:Samurai Champloo
Episode:23: Baseball Blues
Synopsis
Mugen, Jin, and Fuu stop to grab some food and Jin orders a lot without worrying for the bill. His solution is to eat-and-run, but as he attempts to escape, he is beaned in the head when a man throws a baseball at him. In exchange for paying their food bill, the man recruits them to play on his Japanese baseball team against a ship full of Americans (this being the 1600's remember). The stakes are high as the Americans will never leave if they win the game.

OK, there was some anti-American stuff in this episode and a lot of stereotypes about how Americans are. It appears they hired a couple of Americans (or at least a couple of guys who spoke real English rather than the Engrish the other American baseball players spoke) to be seiyuu for the main American parts which was nice, but all of the Americans cussing and basically being rude plays into the stereotype. Still, this was the funniest episode of the series. I laughed and laughed at some of the things that happened and the absurdity of it all. Very fun!
