| Makoto and Kyoichi are on their way to the sea [image1] for a holiday job at the Marine House Nitta, run by Chiharu's older cousin Daisuke. Makoto is all cheered up but Kyoichi is depressed after his argument with Chiharu who's attending her athletics summer camp instead.
At the inn they are welcomed by a shy but beautiful girl who turns out to be Chiharu's cousin Nao. Of course Makoto is trying to have a go on her, only to learn how jealous Daisuke can become about this [image2]. And who's going to be their boss for this summer vacation? You guessed it. Still being in a gloomy mood, Kyoichi is daydreaming at work. But while teasing him occasionally Makoto tries to cheer up his friend up whenever he can. And while selling cold drinks in the hot sun on the beach [image3] they meet two customers (and fellow lodgers) they know already... [image4] Burning hanabi at night, Aki and Yumi tell the boys about Nao's frail health - that's why she is always alone and hiding from the sun. And Makoto's attempt to ask Nao out is suspended by Daisuke once again. But Nao has noticed what Makoto was trying to do. On the next day she walks to the beach with her parasol - and Yumi and Aki meet her just in time to see her fainting! But with the help of the girls [image5] Nao can walk home later, and she promises to show them "something nice". And late in the evening Aki and Yumi make the pooped boys come along with them on a journey into the unknown... [image6] | |

This is more like a side story within this series, and it even looks like a filler episode: Lots of beach babes, and the boys doing silly things, including the rotenburo scene. But they're just acting in character, and we need such an episode at this point of the story, including the cameos of the two missing friends. Despite his appearance and his immature behaviour on many occasions, Makoto is a real friend for Kyoichi. And it was a nice idea to have him mock Yumi for her bathing costume. And while the leads' relation is covered in only two short scenes it has a significant impact on the whole episode - don't you miss the little scene after the closing credits. ==================================== | |
