Stretch:
This was a fun episode, both amusing at times and offering up a couple important plot elements. Some sort of small object (which we are never given a look at) is passed along to AMP--it is clearly both awesomely powerful and potentially dangerous to use. Lucifer Hawks can sometimes masquerade as humans. Why didn't Grospoliner activate in the restaraunt? Katsumi has several terrifying nightmares; surely there will be some explanation later on. There exists a group of human traitors, the "Ghouls", who cooperate with the Hawks for selfish reasons. Lum Cheng quickly getting into a misunderstanding and a feud with Katsumi seemed kind of rushed and awkward. My favorite line was the comment a Hawk made while listening to them argue: "I'm not following this..." It kind of summed up my own feelings as well.

Devil Doll:
this "small object" is one of several plausibility issues of the series. The scene is longer in the manga (chapter 9 of 12, i. e. later in the story than we're in the anime but the scene fits better at this point) so we could know for sure there what's inside this box (even though its importance will become clear only later). You'll later (episode 22) be able to guess what that item was but this will cause an unanswered question about it that bugs me...

About Grospoliner: Good question. Even better as Lum Cheng's sword Jesso has the ability to "activate" itself in a similar situation (as you will see later). Let's assume that Grospoliner is an intelligent sword and doesn't activate because Katsumi told him the AMP already knows what's up here...

We've seen those Ghouls in episode 3 already when Katsumi and Roy had their adventure in the lower city of Tokyo. Now they form a kind of "symbiosis" with the LH, and one might wonder who made this alliance come to happen, and for what purpose.

I agree about Lum Cheng being rushed, most notably about her rivalry in terms of Roy. Lum Cheng is a catalyst for this story, necessary to speed up certain developments. And the AMP will be happy to have one more powerful fighter in gloomier days to come...

That LH scene is one of the few funny parts of this series during the second half. (And yes, it's difficult to follow the story without knowing the manga, which makes rewatching the series more rewarding. ;-) But my favourite scene was the noise of Katsumi's baby "eating". ;-)
