The schoolboy has just lost a kendo fight in his dojo, and the girl he intended to impress walked away with his victorious opponent who even gave him a lecture after their fight. Depressed he retreats to the industry sector of his hometown, climbing up an old factory chimney, the "tower of courage" for his gang. To his surprise he meets a strange girl with blue hair and blue eyes up there... but then time stops for a moment - and shortly after this, he and the girl are attacked by huge mechas. Moments later he finds himself in a place he's never seen before, and his nightmare begins in a fortress named Hellywood where all values of humanity appear to be lost. Koushiro has lost his way in life. His steady girlfriend broke up with him because their relationship was not going anywhere and she tell him that she has fallen out of love with him, and his job at a dating service was not bringing him any measure of happiness. During his commute home, he sees a high school student on the train, and feels a strange spark of connection. The next day they happen to meet again, he approaches her and asks to spend some time together. In an amusement park, they spend some time and talk, where Koushiro finds himself opening up to her, shedding tears at the memories of his broken heart, and where he finds himself being comforted by her. |

Risa and Otani are best friends, but they argue all the time. They argue so much that their fights look like a comedy routine, in fact the school has dubbed them the All Hanshin Kyo. (A comedy team from Kansai where a short guy and tall guy fight to everyone's enjoyment). They even answer questions at exactly the same time and adore a pop singer named Umibozou. The thing is, Risa is a 172cm tall girl and Otani is a 156cm tall boy. This does strain things at times since neither can find a love partner because of their height. Finally they make a bet, first one to get a partner will get a free present from the other half (Risa will get video games, and Otani will get new basketball shoes). |

The remaining survivors of the Dimension of Lacrima are in a loosing war with the Dimension Shangrila. They have put all their hopes in finding and recovering a theoretical device called the Dragon Torque and are sending their elite warriors, the Dragon Knights, into the infinite probabilities and dimensions of the temporal and quantum timespaces in a desperate search. One of the warriors, Karasu encounters the Dragon Torque in the form of a young teenaged girl named Haruka. She looks just like his Haruka, his beloved whom he lost some ten years ago in the war. Defending the Dragon Torque is the boy Yuu, the incarnation of Karasu in that timespace. Karasu still feels the loss of his Haruka and is troubled at how he was unable to keep his promise to protect her. But can Karasu carry out his mission and risk the life of Haruka to bring her back in time to save Lacrima? |
