Now that the peace is disturbed and the Youkai are on an unknown bloodlusted killing spree the Gods have decided to send Genjo Sanzo a high priest to the east to find out the cause of the "disturbance", with in the begining of his Journey he picks up a 3 companions, Gokuu, a whiny and highly annoying youkai, Sha-Gojyo, a half youkai/human who wields a badass scythe thingy and Cho-Hakkai, a human turned youkai, who seems to be very tolerant of his obscure travelling companions. The thing is that Sanzo isn't what you call the most holy of holy priest.(for example: drinking, smoking and killing without a second thought). |

One of the greatest Go players in history, Fujiwarano Sai, has been trapped inside a goban (a traditional Go board) for hundreds of years. A young boy, Shindo Hikaru, has the power to free Sai, and by doing so, opens a spot in his mind for Sai to stay. As Sai is a spirit (or ghost) visible only to Hikaru, they find themselves strangely bound together. With very little in common, Sai urges him to attend various Go clubs to permit them to play against strong opponents and begins to teach Hikaru how to play Go. And slowly Hikaru becomes drawn into the strange world of competitive Go. Hikaru accepts Touya Akira as a rival and sets his goals on becoming good enough to defeat him, while Sai wishes only to attain skills for the ultimate Go-play, a move called "The Hand of God." |

The three-woman adventure team is almost perfect. With Melissa, the Priestess (blonde); Merrill, the Thief (brown); and Genie, the Swordswoman (red), they need only a mage to balance out their team. Their efforts to recruit a student-sorceress at a magic college town are turned down flat, but the student recommends her good friend, Louie. Louie is a sorcery student who is more interested in barhopping and brawling than his studies (Oh, did I mention that Louie is a guy). Later when Melissa has a holy revelation that the headstrong, brain-weak, and all-around beefy wizard-in-training Louie is to be her champion, a choosen warrior whom she is tasked to help achieve greatness, she can only comment “IT IS AGAINST MY WILL!” But it would seem fate has a nasty sense of humor, and the three adventurers find themselves having to break-in a new team member. |
