(/Beautiful Boy/) To qualify, the title has to be filled with beautiful, young boys (often with long, flowing hair) no older than high school aged. Inuyasha and Tenkuu no Escaflowne have both been marked as bishounen.

Kinomoto Sakura is a bright, cheerful, cute little 4th grade girl. She lives with her 17-year old brother and her widowed father in a nice home in Japan. One day, she hears strange noises coming from the basement of her home. Cautiously investigating the source amongst the rows of book shelves, she discovers it is coming from a glowing old book called "The Clow". Unlocking the book, Sakura discovers that it is in fact a storage box for a deck of odd cards. While attempting to read the English word "Windy" on the front of the top card, she accidently activates the magic card, causing the entire deck to be scattered and disappear all over Japan. Now that the peace is disturbed and the Youkai are on an unknown bloodlusted killing spree the Gods have decided to send Genjo Sanzo a high priest to the east to find out the cause of the "disturbance", with in the begining of his Journey he picks up a 3 companions, Gokuu, a whiny and highly annoying youkai, Sha-Gojyo, a half youkai/human who wields a badass scythe thingy and Cho-Hakkai, a human turned youkai, who seems to be very tolerant of his obscure travelling companions. The thing is that Sanzo isn't what you call the most holy of holy priest.(for example: drinking, smoking and killing without a second thought). |
