A high school romance story in which Ken and Hotaru are very close to each other, and Hotaru is hopefully wishing for a deeper commitment. Events introduce Tobise Tamoe to the kind hearted and innocent Ken, and a friendship blossoms between them. As Tamoe is Hotaru's best friend, Ken's kindness and lack a willingness to commit causes doubts and concerns with Hotaru. While Ken-chan holds both girls as dear, he is forced to confront his own weaknesses and make a decision as to how to answer Hotaru's request that they form a deeper bond and get closer emotionally. |

While Nanaka and Nenji always walk together to high school, one would never know that they were childhood friends.
