Sometime in the distant future, Humanity has managed to survive, but only in isolated cities and through the use of cloning and robotic servants called ‘autoraves’. Life in the cities are strictly controlled by management dedicated to preserving their 'utopian' way of life. But something is causing the ‘autoraves’ to become independent and is driving them to seek to escape the city. Real Mayer, a female inspector from the Citizen Information Board, learns that the awakenings of the ‘autoraves’ is caused by an encounter with something called a Proxy. In seeking to learn more, Real stumbles into a secret that management is desperately trying to hide and will go to any lengths to keep suppressed. |

When his parents decided to move, Maebara Keiichi found himself having to leave behind both his friends and the big city life to transfer to the small village of Hinamizawa with it’s small one-room middle school. Adjusting well, Keiichi found a few close friends and together they pass the days playing games and flirting. And then one day, Keiichi happens to hear of an unsolved murder that occurred in the village some five years ago. In asking about the details surrounding the murder, his close friends claim to know nothing. On the day after a village spring festival (the anniversary of the first murder), Keiichi is quietly approached by a policeman who is investigating the disappearance of two people that night before. Keiichi learns there has been not been just one murder, but a number of murders, each happening on the anniversary of the first event and he begins to wonder if the village is hiding a dark secret. And suddenly things get really strange when one of Keiichi’s school friends warns him not to ask any more questions or else risk the same fate of a student who abruptly disappeared and ‘transferred’ out the year before…….. |

A beautiful therapist Chiba Atsuko and a genius scientist Tokita Kosaku work for a psycho-medical institute. They invent a headset called a 'DC-mini'. It is an epoch-making device that allows them to enter a patient’s dream and enables them to interact with the patient’s inner world in order to cure him. However, one day, a DC-mini device goes missing, and is perhaps stolen. Since then the dreams of those patients participating in the project are being attacked one by one, and something is going wrong. Chiba Atsuko begins to investigate the matter. When using a DC-mini, she becomes the Dream Detective Paprika, who can synchronize with other person’s dream to guide them through their trauma. She finds herself fighting against a dream terrorist who uses a DC-mini that is strong enough to destroy one’s personality. Who is the 'criminal', and what is he after?
