Shoujo: (
Target Group) (
↗shoujo (
少女) = "young lady", "virgin", "maiden"; opposite of "
Shounen") A style of artwork and story created for girls (usually of age 10 to 18). Characterized by plots that focus on emotion and relationships, and art that tends toward the florid, with lanky characters and rather effeminate (but always attractive) men. Mostly popular with teenagers in Japan, most shoujo-style work has not spread widely, but it does occasionally gain recognition outside Japan (some examples are Revolutionary Girl Utena and X). The most common uses are "shoujo manga", literally meaning "girls' comics", and "shoujo anime" meaning "girls' animation." Also romanized as "shojo" (actually
a different word "処女"
in Japanese). (Please credit

Romance: (
Genre) Self-explanatory. If the title has a romance story to it, it would qualify.

18-year-old Ebihara Chinami emits electrical waves when she becomes distressed. The more nervous she becomes, the worse the situation gets. Her latest transfer to a new school introduces her to Kotaro from the school's science club. She quickly finds herself with a number of new friends: Kotaro, who is interested in learning about her abilities by experimenting on her; Yumi, a classmate and shrine maiden with the same power as she; and Sonomi, Kotaro's jealous childhood-friend. But there are others who are watching from a distance and they refer to Chinami as having strong 'TYPE-E' powers.
