Kamisama Kazoku
Rent At first glance, Kamiyama Samataro might look like an average 2nd year high school student, but he has to work very hard to maintain that image and keep his family secrets hidden. Even with Tenko, his childhood friend, looking after him, things are always going wrong. Not that it is really Tenko’s fault, she is Samataro's guardian Angel and being an Angel, she does not understand what it means to be human. It Samataro’s parents that are impossible and tend to be the cause of a lot of his troubles. His father is a God who is not beyond lending his son a bit of magical help, but his mother is no better. She is Goddess with no shame or modesty, who likes to dress up as a high school cheerleader to show her favor for her eldest son. Samataro’s sisters are at least understanding and usually helpful. While they are goddess candidates with special powers, they are the same situation as he is and are having to put up with their parents decision to have their kids learn about normal people by spending time living in the human world.

Mind Game
Rent Nishi, an awkward young manga artist in Osaka, has had on longstanding crush on Myon. Thing is, Myon’s got a thing for rugged Ryo. Matters come to a head at her sister Yan’s yakitori restaurant, in the presence of the girl’s dissolute father—who happens to owe a bunch of money to a pair of creepy gangsters, who’ve come to collect. Things get ugly, and Nishi gets killed in a brutal, graphic fashion. End of the story? No way, that’s just the start. Pulling a fast one on God (in all his/her/its infinite manifestations), Nishi hightails it back to Earth, where he replays the crime to his advantage, steals a car and grabs the girls. Under a hail of yakuza gunfire, he bails off a bridge—and into the mouth of a whale. There, he and his two female companions encounter a tenacious and lively old man who has set up camp in the beast’s belly, longing to someday return to human company on dry land. With no immediate exit available, the quartet make do—fishing, fighting, making love, weaving tales of strange happenings on faraway planets and dreaming of life in the real world. Will they ever set foot there again?

Tonari no 801 chan
This anime story is based on an adult fujoshi (an otaku of boys-love stories) as she juggles her yaoi obsession and her otaku boyfriend. When her boys-love obsession takes over, it manifests itself as a green furry monster (pictured at right). Kojima is based on the monster-mascot for a shopping arcade that happens to be named "801." "801" in the manga's title is a pun, since the number "801" can be read as "Ya-o-i" in Japanese.
