This is the story of the Macross Frontier, a giant Colony ship that is heading to the center of the galaxy. On the way there they are attacked by a strange new enemy that looks like a cross between the Zentradi and the Inbit from Genesis Climber MOSPEADA (known as the Invid in the Robotech adaptation). 3 Young people (The singer - Sheryl Nome, a girl attending high school - Ranka Lee, and a pilot trainee - Alto Satome) are caught in the cross fire. Alto witnesses a pilot being killed and the new enemy heading for Ranka. He jumps into the abandoned Valkyrie to save her.
