Based on the manga of Inoue Takehiko (who published the SLAM DUNK series), this series follows an eclectic and strange collection of basketball players (set in a futuristic time,) who aspire to create a team to join the Intergalactic Basketball League and play against the alien (devil horned) Gorans, and challenge their apparent mastery of this earth-sport.

Kanji Sasahara is a first year college student. He watches a lot of Anime and reads Manga. He was thinking of joining the Manga club when another student Makoto Kohsaka strikes up a conversation with them about joining. Kanji is embarassed and leaves. Later he visits the Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture (Aka a bunch of Otaku's). While alone in the club room, he looks up the skirt of a Haruka doll (KGNE), and is caught red handed flipping through their porn collection. He is so mortified, but finds out it was a form of Hazing and the other guys were just waiting nearby for the president to catch him in the 'act'!. "Now that we know we're the same kind" Genshiken member Madarame says, "how about you join us?"

Rent Yukinari is a boy who gets hives when he women touch him. Miharu, the girl from Seiren, is the only girl who doesn't give him hives. Kirie is the shy but violent girl next door who has a crush on Yukinari. Lisa is the local witch who believes Yukinari is her destined mate. Fukuyama is Lisa's brother who believes he is god's gift to women. Koyomi is a girl from Seiren looking for men to take back to her women-only home world. Tomoka is the child prodigy who's helping out Koyomi. Maharu is Miharu's grown-up sister who is looking for a husband.

Rent Manaka Junpei races to the rooftop of his middle school one day, only to be surprised by a falling angel, a beautiful girl wearing strawberry (ichigo) panties. Against the backdrop of a setting sun, she runs away, dropping a notebook. Junpei returns the notebook to the student whose name is listed in it, to Toujou Aya, but he is disappointed to find out that she is not the girl that he met on the rooftop. On a dare from his friends, he decides to confess to most beautiful girl in 3rd year class, Nishino Tsukasa. While her hairstyle is different from the girl of his dreams, she is both very beautiful and she was wearing strawberry panties, so she must have been the girl that he met on the rooftop, or was she?

Buy Twelve-year old Aoyagi Ritsuka lost his only kin when his brother, Aoyagi Seimei, was killed under mysterious circumstances. One day, he meets Wagatsuma Soubi, who claims to know his brother. It turns out that Soubi and Seimei used to be a fighting pair, whereby Soubi was the "Fighting Machine" and Seimei was the "Sacrifice". Now that Seimei is gone, Soubi 'belongs' to Ritsuka who will become his new "Sacrifice". After learning that Seimei was killed by an organisation known as the "Seventh Moon", Ritsuka decides to join forces with Soubi and investigate the truth behind his brother's death.

Buy Tokiha Mai and her frail younger brother Takumi receive a scholarship on the prestigious Fuuka Gakuen. On the ferry to the school, they find a girl floating in the water, holding a huge black sword. After rescuing her, the boat is attacked by another girl with a dog/artillery mecha thing. She warns Mai not to go to the school and to hand over the girl they found. After a big fight (sinking the ferry) Mai, the girl and her sword suddenly appear at Fuuka academy. It might have something to do with the red birth mark both girls seem to have. Is Mai a HiME? (HiME stands for "Highly-advanced Materializing Equipment")

Buy Moving from the Hiroshima area to Tokyo as to attend high school there, Akizuki Yamato finds himself having to live in a house run by his aunt Fujikawa Ayano and her daughter Miho. He doesn't have to pay a rent but in exchange he has to help the residence. Besides having a public bath it's also occupied by three young and pretty female tenants - Saotome Yuka, Matsumoto Megumi and Asahina Suzuka. Yamato falls quickly for the charm of the beautiful and sporty Suzuka (a talented track&field high jumper going to attend the same class as Yamato) but alas for him everything separates them - and don't forget Yamato's pal Hattori Yasunobu (the ladies' guy), Hashiba Miki (the sprinter girl), and Sakurai Honoka (another female classmate and childhood friend of Yamato). Well, life isn't easy when you're young and inexperienced...
