Saya Otonashi lives peacefully with her adoptive family in Okinawa. The man that she proudly calls dad has adopted both her, her younger brother Riku and her troublesome older brother Kai. One day while helping his old friend Kato to rescue a homeless person from the train, he and Kato are killed by the very train they helped the homeless person from. (Extemely bloody scene) Kei then finds himself in a strange room filled with people including Kato. In the center is a large black ball. No one seems to know why they are there though almost all agree that each of them was very near death before they appeared in here. All of a sudden a girl 'beams' (a very gross scene) into the room, she is naked but there is evidence that she had committed suicide in a bath tub. She wakes up and screams. Shindou and his little sister Saya were among the few survivors of a massacre that took over three hundred lives in a public housing complex. While the trauma of the event is part of the past, Shindou is troubled by repeated nightmares – dreams filled with images of monsters, blood and a red-haired woman with a sword. Now some five years later, Saya is working with local traffic police and Shindou has just become a rookie investigator for Tokki: The City’s Special Mobile Investigation Force. While investigating a number of bloody murders committed by a serial killer, Shindou and other members of the Tokki team are attacked by a group of possessed humans who cannot stopped with guns. It is only when a group of sword-wielding members of the elite Tokko division arrive and kill the monsters, does Shindou begin to wonder about his dreams and the truth behind massacre that took the lives of both of his parents. |
