While visiting his grandmother one summer, Nagasumi gets into trouble when swimming in the ocean. He is saved from drowning by a young mermaid, but according to mermaid law – if a human sees a mermaid’s true form, then both have to be killed - unless of course they choose to get married. So now Nagasumi is engaged to San. Her father, a mob boss, does not approve a human courting his daughter and is determined to bring their relationship to an end – or him. And there is also the small matter of keeping San’s secret from his family and friends. |
