During an attack on a castle, a young woman and Otome places an infant, sealed in a pod, into a river to escape certain death. Fourteen years later, a young girl named Arika Yumemiya comes to the city to attend Garderobe Academy. Acting like the complete stranger she is, the sights and sounds of the city excite her as does the prospect of becoming an Otome like her mother. She meets Nina Wang, who's desperate to be rid of this bumpkin, but after rescuing the young princess together, Nina learns there's much more to Arika than meets the eye, as does her father.
