Adeu the Sonic is a very chivalrous knight who wants to do good and often preaches about what a knight should do. After being robbed by a couple of kids, Adeu finds himself in a western-styled town where the Menchi (meat) brothers are causing trouble with their mecha devices. Adue also has a mecha which he summons, known as Ryu Knight Zephyr. Witnessing his acts of chivary are Paffy-hime, her big traveling companion Izumi, and the ninja Sarutobi (also with Paffy-hime). Because they are travelling in the same direction, Adeu ends up travelling with Paffy-hime's party where he soon discovers that Sarutobi also has a Ryu mecha known as Ryu Ninja Bakuretsumaru. He then discovers that Paffy has Ryu Mage Magidora and that Izumi has Ryu Priest Baurus. Together, this group will fight evil as they take their journey. But just how many people have Ryu-mecha? Will Adeu grow so that he is no longer a baka? |

Martial Arts students Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo have been arranged to be married against their will. To make matters worse, after Martial Arts training at the Magical Springs in China, his father is cursed to change into a Panda and he's cursed to change into a beautiful buxom female whenever doused in cold water. (Hot water reverses the effects.) Add to that a cast of characters looking to break up the couple (some of them similarly cursed) and you have one of Rumiko Takahashi's most popular creation as they continue their adventures in the OVA releases. |

The hero of the piece is Sakuragi Hanamichi, a loud-mouthed, red-haired guy who has been rejected by girls 50 times in junior high. He meets the latest girl of his dreams, Akagi Haruko, and falls madly in love with her. He even goes so far as to join the basketball team to impress her, even though he knows nothing about the sport. But soon, he realizes that he truly loves basketball and he has talent for it. He's bitter rivals with Rukawa Kaede, both on the court and out of it, because Haruko worships the ground Rukawa walks on, though he hardly notices she exists. The other main characters are Akagi Takenori, Haruko's older brother who is also the captain of the team; Miyagi Ryota, who is in love with Ayako the team manager; and Mitsui Hisashi, a third-year former MVP (Most Valuable Player) who has been away from basketball for two years. Together, these unlikely misfits aim to transform Shohoku from a little-known team to the champion in all of Japan. |
