The protagonist, Yoshiyuki Sakurai, was born when Sakura Yoshino, weary of being alone for so long, wished upon a prototype artificial wish-granting magical sakura tree for a family. Similar to its predecessor, the story takes place on the same island, Hatsunejima, in Japan, and set fifty-three years after the original anime. The Asakura sisters are the granddaughters of Junichi Asakura and Nemu Asakura from the first Da Capo. In a near future time when alien attacks have become a common event, a secret (Japanese) organization called the GRA (GRAND RIFUREKUTO AMUDO, Grand Reflect Armor) has developed a very effective defense. Using a technology developed by Dr Sanada Mio, which she calls the 'G-On', certain young students wearing glasses (hence the "G" in the title) are able to harness their strong feelings and manifest those abilities and weapons that prove effective against the alien attacking units. The GRA has sponsored an elite high school to help identify and develop the students who have this ability in the hopes that they can defend not only Japan, but also the earth from the alien invaders. |

Negi Springfield is a 10-year old graduate of a magic academy in England. His first assignment in the real world is to Japan and to an all-girls school (jr. high and high school) where he will teach 2nd-year junior high English. However, since his class is supposed to be full of normal girls, Negi is not supposed to let them know. One of Negi-sensei's students, Kagurazaka Asuna, discovers his secret and attempts to use it to her advantage since the idea of a 10-year old boy teaching does not amuse her.
