The high-school student Sanpeita dreamed he was engaged to a beautiful girl. Then one morning, a strange homely girl suddenly breaks through a wall in his bedroom to tell him that she is his bride and that her name is Kemeko. In order to escape, Sanpeita fled his house and went to school, but Kemeko follows. And things got only stranger when Sanpeita was targeted by something that looks like a rice cooker on the school's rooftop. Tsutomu Senkawa is an average high school kid who is busy studying for his senior entrance exams. Tsutomu goes out for some fresh air, after a hard day's work studying for a big test, when he runs into a guy fleeing from a pretty young lady. The pursued man is actually an interplanetary criminal on the run from a Federation agent called Birdy Cephon Altera. Caught in the midst of this chase, Tsutomu gets thrown by the man at Birdy, which kills Tsutomu. Fortunately for Tsutomu, there is a way to keep him alive, although it comes at the price of discarding his body. He ends up merged into Birdy's body. |

Concerns over the implications of the advancements in biotechnology and robotics, and their effects on the human body and humanity finally erupted in 2067. The United Nations deemed certain advanced technologies and research trends in cybernetics to be a dangerous threat, imposed restrictions and instituted global surveillance on prevent any misuse and abuse. And while the world accepted the decision, Japan stood alone in disagreement. Under the influence of the Daiwa company, the government of Japan refused to their halt biotech research and withdrew from the UN, created electronic barriers to restrict communications, travel and surveillance, and isolated itself from the world. Now some ten years later, word gets out about problems in Japan, suggesting that they may be up to something. It falls upon an American special forces unit named SWORD to infiltrate and uncover the truth hidden behind Japan’s electronic veil. |
