Title: Meiking Overall: Buy Keywords: Action, Adventure, Hentai, Romance Notables: Asbell Cain, a common shepherd follows some of the strays from his flock into a cave where he finds and releases Elise, a fairy, who had been sealed in bottle for over a hundred years. As a gesture of thanks, Elise instructs Cain to visit a deserted farmhouse, where he finds and rescues the high princess Charlotte of Franberge, who has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom by bandits. Charlotte rewards Cain with the lordship to the lands of Norland, with the condition that he has five years to provide himself worthy of both the title and responsibilities. And so begins the kind hearted Cain's adventure to find friends, allies (and lovers,) to prove himself worthy of his position of lord, and perhaps even to be a suitor for the hand of the beautiful princess Charlotte.

Meiking This is definitely a hentai series, but it is also an anime series with a heart. While the cute and young princess Charlotte makes it clear to her kind hearted Cain that he is her favorite of all her potential suitors, it rests upon his shoulders to prove his worthiness as the lord of a land troubled by the absence of a strong leader for many years. With the fairy Elise watching over him, and with the assistance of elvish sorceress Chiffon (whom Charlotte has ask to stay behind and assist), Cain has to learn to accept both the responsibilities and privileges of being a lord of a medieval kingdom. In his first adventure, he meets, loses to, and finally defeats the cute samurai kendo-gyrl, Tsubaki, whom he enlists to be his general and combat-instructor for his army. While it is Cains sincereness that wins Tsubakis loyalty, (despite her troubled past,) it is Cains honesty and kindness that wins over Tsubakis private passion, as they form an alliance in friendship to help each other succeed in their own personal goals. Cain is a nice and simple guy, who encounters and wins both the loyalty and passion of a number of different female friends. His adventure as a lord teaches him both of his limitations and his abilities, as learns to be a leader of a troubled kingdom. He is called upon to prove himself in combat, when the lord of an adjoining land decides to attack to undermine not only his claim to the title to his land, but his position as the favored suitor to the hand of the high princess Charlotte. But with the assistance of his intimate-friends, he does succeed to defeat his treacherous opponent, and succeeds in securing both his title and the passionate embrace of the princess. Meiking has only four episodes, each 35 minutes long. I found this series, to be charming and interesting as it has a swords and sorcery flavor, which tells an entertaining story, but it is VERY hentai. I feel compelled to give this a BUY rating because it succeeds to a good story with henti....rather than hentai in search of a story. It is still should be rated 18+, no matter how kind and intimate the passionate scenes are, but in any case it is well worth the watching. Last updated Wednesday, March 10 2004.
