This is a genre of anime which features mechanical fighting machines. Often these take the form of giant robots but this isn't the only form mecha can take. There are tons of examples of mecha titles considering the popularity of the series. Blue Gender, Shin Seiki Evangelion, Tenkuu no Escaflowne, and Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 are all classic mecha titles.

Depressed he retreats to the industry sector of his hometown, climbing up an old factory chimney, the "tower of courage" for his gang. To his surprise he meets a strange girl with blue hair and blue eyes up there... but then time stops for a moment - and shortly after this, he and the girl are attacked by huge mechas. Moments later he finds himself in a place he's never seen before, and his nightmare begins in a fortress named Hellywood where all values of humanity appear to be lost. And yet, Shu tries to plead for his ideals...

Lumiere (young purple-haired girl) and Eclair (red-haired older girl) are ES-members (Ecounter of Shadow-Work) of GOTT (Galactic Organization of Tariff and Trade) who do underground works to regulate the economy and safety of the Galaxy. Like all ES members, Eclair and Lumiere have special powers. Lumiere can control any form of computer technology, even from a great distance. Eclair can turn lipstick into a deadly weapon and when she wears it, she becomes super strong and exceptionally fast. They are accompanied by a GOTT auditor named Armblast as they accomplish various missions successfully. However, their past comes back to haunt them and soon Lumiere and Eclair find themselves in the fight of their lives. What is the secret of thier past? What is GOTT doing? Will Eclair and Lumiere be able to live normal lives?

Originally a space oddity, it was a field of intense gravity that would destroy any ship that went into it. But now it is growing. It started at Earth and now reaches as far as Pluto.(Like a road) Kouji Aiba and his brother Yuuki are aboard the Liebe Delta, a school for space pilots and their support teams (Maintenance, Housekeeping, Navigation, Security, Artillery). But the school gets attacked. A terrorist group boards the Liebe Delta and kills all the staff. Then they reprogram the station to plunge into the Gedalt, killing all the students. Yuuki and his friend Ikumi are trying to escape when they see a young girl apparently trying to commit suicide. They save her. As they escape Yuuki sees another young girl who is standing there talking to herself. She appears to be reading his thoughts.

Under the influence of the Daiwa company, the government of Japan refused to their halt biotech research and withdrew from the UN, created electronic barriers to restrict communications, travel and surveillance, and isolated itself from the world. Now some ten years later, word gets out about problems in Japan, suggesting that they may be up to something. It falls upon an American special forces unit named SWORD to infiltrate and uncover the truth hidden behind Japan’s electronic veil.
