Chihiro, a rather listless 10-year-old girl, is on her way to her new home with her parents when they take a wrong turn into what appears to be an abandoned theme park. However, it turns out to be a bathhouse for weary gods and spirits. Chihiro's parents are turned into pigs, and Chihiro herself becomes a bathhouse worker.
