Ten-year-old Huey and his younger brother Riley have been dragged away from a big city life in Chicago by their grandfather, to live a middleclass life in the very white and idyllic suburb of Woodcrest. In addition to having problems coping with this acute change in home setting, they have trouble adapting to the drastically different suburban cultures and lifestyles.
