Two sisters decide to run away from home with hopes of finding a job that would permit them to live on their own. After a series of rejections, the younger sister Mitsuki finds a posting outside of mansion for a live-in maid, and both she and Sawatari enter the large, spacious but very empty grounds of the house. There they find a boy of their age, Yoshitaka Nakayashi, a 14-year-old who has inherited millions due to the accidental death of his parents. Nakayashi fired all of the staff for treating him like a kid and not listening to him, but he finds himself unable to live alone and is now looking for a couple of live-in maids. While the two Izumi sisters might have some problems of their own, they never expected to find a position looking after a pampered pervert of a rich boy with an overblown uniform fetish, someone who wants to be addressed as goshujin-sama (master). But Nakayashi never expected to find Mitsuki’s pet alligator Pochi in one of their luggage cases.

Several months after Nanoha first became a Magical Girl, she still is unable to personally meet with her new close friend, Fate Testarossa, who is being tried in the Space / Time Administration Bureau for her association in the Lost Logia case. They still communicate through video-mail and hope to see each other in-person once again. Their reunion is not a happy one, unfortunately, as several people who call themselves "Velka-Type Knights" battle Nanoha above the city. Their objective is to fill the pages of the Book of Darkness by stealing the magical power of anyone they can find. Nanoha and Fate must once again team up to stop their plans and save the world. Sakai Yuji was a normal student, or so he thought until one day the world around him "stopped" and he was assaulted by a monster, “Kuze no Tomogara”. It was a monster which came from another world, and was able to turn human bodies into energy, something that it could eat. It was a girl with red hair and red eyes called Enpatsu Shakugan no Uchite and wielding the sword Nietono no Shana that saved him. Then, that girl, a Flame Haze, said to him “You don’t exist anymore”. What she meant was that Yuuji was dead...and now a "Torch." But more than a normal Torch, used to simulate the life of humans who've been consumed by the various Togara, Yuuji is a "Mistes" and a very special one at that. Now that Yuuji has been introduced into a frightening new world where he's not what he thought he was, he decides to make the best of it and names his female savior "Shana." Thus, she and Yuuji end up teaming up to protect the city from various Tomogara who find it suitable for their needs. What about the city do the Togara find so appealing? What is the true nature of Yuuji? Will Shana be able to deal with the other Flame Haze that come to the city? Will Shana be able to deal with her the odd feelings she experiences when she thinks of Yuuji being with his female classmate Yoshida-san?
