A young boastful pirate named Cloud manages to open a large treasure chest just acquired on their last raid, and awakens a beautiful young girl. It is only later when treasure hunters and ninja raiders attack the pirate airship does he learn that her name is Edell Raid, one of the seven Shickikou Houju treasures, and that she is not human. In a desperate struggle, he is brave enough to fight a loosing battle to protect her from the raiders. Despite her strong dislike of humans, she is moved by his feelings and declares her acceptance of him. In taking his hand, she speaks of wanting to understand love, and transforms into a bizarre sword weapon attached to his arm. And so the story of adventure for Edell Raid and Cloud begins. |

Having lost his parents at a young age, Yagi Takeru, lives alone with his kendo sensi, and they are both looked after by two of his fellow classmates from Izumo Academy, Shiratori Kotono and her sister, Asuka. Along with his best friend and greatest kendo rival, Yamato Takeshi, they are enjoying a happy school experience, at least until Takeshi and Takeru begin sharing the same dream of a priestess calling to them. In a strange confrontation in the schoolyard, Takeru and four girls are shrouded in a strange light that covers Takeshi, and then everything goes black. When they wake up, they find themselves separated from one another in a high school cracking and broken with age and covered in trees and vines. An attack by giant hostile insects, then a confrontation with strange floating creatures, with a sudden rescue by a troop of sword-carrying soldiers on horseback is proof that they are now in a very different world. |

In the Land of Clow, a teenaged Syaoran returns from archaeology dig where he is working. He is greeted by his old childhood friend, Princess Sakura. Sakura wants to confess her feelings for Syaoran, but gets interrupted before doing so. Later, she meets Syaoran at the ruins where her latent powers become active and wings (tsubasa) appear as a mysterious person attempts to kidnap her. Syaoran prevents Sakura from being taken, but now Sakura is unconscious and her memories appear to be gone. She will die unless she can get help from the time-space witch Yuuko. The priest-mage Yukito sends Syaoran across space and time to another universe where Yuuko resides on Earth in Japan (this Earth is where Sakura from Cardcaptor Sakura resides). There, they not only meet Yuuko, but also Kurogane, a powerful ninja who was sent there by Princess Tomoyo from her universe to learn the true meaning of strength. And finally they meet Fai, a powerful mage and creator of Chii in his world. He's on the run from a sleeping ruler named Ashura. |
