And by using submarines to travel beneath the ice and harsh winds that rage overhead, humanity has been able to develop a global community. But during a distant galactic war, Earth looked to Mars as important water resource to support their war efforts. Now that the war is over, Earth still values the wealth of resources that Mars provides, and is reluctant to release their firm control over their smaller step-sister. |

On the last day of high school, right before the summer break, Makimura Koutarou decides that he is going to confess to the school idol, Serizawa Kaho-chan (by talking Ai, the younger girl living next door to him, into delivering his love letter) - only to be turned down instantly. On his way home that night, he confronts a trench-coated stalker in the shadows and ends up being showered with a strange powder. The next morning when he wakes up, six weeks have passed and his school is having a memorial service for Serizawa Kaho, with everyone being sympathetic at the death of his girl friend. He learns that Kaho-chan died in an accident as she was hurrying to meet him on a date? |

Hidden behind a mask of mystery, Sunabozu manages to eek out a living by taking on those special jobs that are too trivial for the surviving justice system, and too tough for the bounty hunters. And if he could catch that full figured Asajiri Junko, who set him up to fight the entire Kawazu clan and then tricked him out of the bounty, he would be a lot happier. But Sunabozu always finishes any job that he accepts, even if it takes some time. |

While Gunbuster`s final mission destroyed the space monsters` star system, the intergalactic war still continues. Earth`s only hope lies in the hands of "TOPLESS", an elite mecha group with children possessing supernatural powers and new Buster Machines. Among their ranks is a rookie named Nono and the ace pilot Raruku - whom Nono looks at as a "big sister." Together with their teammates Nicola and Chiko, they must aim for the top and protect all of mankind from the wrath of the space monsters. |
