2004/OVA/Video-game inspired/Modern Titles

OVA: (Type) OVA = Original Video Animation. These are the direct-to-video anime titles done in Japan. Often, OVAs can start a franchise (Tenchi Muyou! Ryououki), start a TV series (Mahou Tsukai Tai!), be a sequel to a TV series (Love Hina Again), or be a stand-alone title (Aa! Megami-sama! OVA). Sometimes, the OAVs are named the same as the TV series and thus will sometimes have the term OVA listed after the title's name to separate it.

Video-game inspired: (Type subgenre) The usual way for an anime to make it to the small screen is from a manga. Sometimes though the anime comes from a video game instead. Gungrave is a classic example: Take a video game from Sega about a undead who fights with musical instruments and create an Anime about love, friendship, betrayal, and a few demons. Modern: (Setting) These are titles which have a modern feel to them; the story takes place in the present day (of the creation of this anime), give or take a few years.

However, he is always compared to his older brother in every thing that he does. Takashi seems to never measure up to what Satoshi has done. The final straw for Takashi was when Satoshi married Miwa, a woman that lived in the same apartment complex and who Takashi was deeply in love with. Because of that, a deep hatred of his brother rises within Takashi. So with the help of Nagayama Azusa, one of his teachers, Takaski sets out to take what he wants.

Phantom the Animation	Watch	Reiji's life is changed forever when he chances to witness an assassination. Rather than getting killed as well, he's drugged and kidnapped. The organization who perpetrated the murder erases his memory and gives him a choice - work for them, or die. Reiji chooses to live under his new name Zwei and is trained to be a highly skilled killer. Another assassin named Ein, a girl whose code name is Phantom, is assigned to work with Reiji and the two form a bond amid the bloodiness of multiple assignments. Over time, their constant teamwork changes their relationship and they become closer. They may have no past, but could they dare to hope in sharing a future?
