2004/Comedy/Mecha Titles


This is a genre of anime which features mechanical fighting machines. Often these take the form of giant robots but this isn't the only form mecha can take. There are tons of examples of mecha titles considering the popularity of the series. Blue Gender, Shin Seiki Evangelion, Tenkuu no Escaflowne, and Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 are all classic mecha titles.

Into her life comes transfer student Gouda, who proposes marriage to her 30 seconds after meeting.

Buy Tokiha Mai and her frail younger brother Takumi receive a scholarship on the prestigious Fuuka Gakuen. On the ferry to the school, they find a girl floating in the water, holding a huge black sword. After rescuing her, the boat is attacked by another girl with a dog/artillery mecha thing. She warns Mai not to go to the school and to hand over the girl they found. After a big fight (sinking the ferry) Mai, the girl and her sword suddenly appear at Fuuka academy. It might have something to do with the red birth mark both girls seem to have. Is Mai a HiME? (HiME stands for "Highly-advanced Materializing Equipment")

Shinkon Gattai Godannar!!
Rent Goh Saruwatari is the pilot of the robot Dannar. 5 years ago during a battle that destroyed his partner, Go saves a young 12 year old girl Anna Aoi. Fast Forward 5 years later. Anna Aoi is the top robot training pilot in her school. Beautiful and skilled, she easily defeats all her opponents. She leaves the school early for a secret mission. She is getting married to Go! Right before she and Go say their final vows, an old enemy/friend shows up and Go gets called away to battle. During the battle the church that Anna is in gets destroyed. But Anna isn't harmed, in fact she has located the hidden secret beneath the castle, the Neo-Okusaer and it's the merge-mate of Dannar. Together they form the GoDannar!
