1999/Action Drama/Shoujo Titles

#
Action Drama: (Genre) Much like "Action" (lots of shooting, explosions, and the like) except it has "Drama" thrown in as well.

Shoujo: (Target Group) (↗shoujo (少女) = "young lady", "virgin", "maiden"; opposite of "Shounen") A style of artwork and story created for girls (usually of age 10 to 18). Characterized by plots that focus on emotion and relationships, and art that tends toward the florid, with lanky characters and rather effeminate (but always attractive) men. Mostly popular with teenagers in Japan, most shoujo-style work has not spread widely, but it does occasionally gain recognition outside Japan (some examples are Revolutionary Girl Utena and X). The most common uses are "shoujo manga", literally meaning "girls' comics", and "shoujo anime" meaning "girls' animation." Also romanized as "shojo" (actually a different word "処女" in Japanese). One day, she hears strange noises coming from the basement of her home. Cautiously investigating the source amongst the rows of book shelves, she discovers it is coming from a glowing old book called "The Clow". Unlocking the book, Sakura discovers that it is in fact a storage box for a deck of odd cards. While attempting to read the English word "Windy" on the front of the top card, she accidently activates the magic card, causing the entire deck to be scattered and disappear all over Japan. The only card that survives is the "Windy" card.
